Biographie

Dr. Yampolsky examine la façon dont les individus d'origines culturelles diverses gèrent leurs différentes identités dans le concept de soi et la manière dont ce processus intra-individuel est lié aux relations interpersonnelles, comme les relations de couples, ainsi que les phénomènes sociaux à grande échelle, le racisme en particulier, mais aussi l’acculturation. Son travail le plus courant examine l'expérience du racisme de la part de proches. Elle emploie une approche multiméthodes avec des procédures qualitatives (ex. : récits de vie et groupes de discussion) ainsi que quantitatives (ex. : développement des mesures, analyses factorielles confirmatoire et analyse dyadique). Ses travaux sont subventionnés par le CRSH et le FRQSC.

Avant de joindre l’École de psychologie en 2015 à titre de professeure adjointe, Dr. Yampolsky a obtenu son doctorat (Ph. D.) en psychologie, profil recherche, de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) avec sa spécialisation en psychologie sociale et culturelle. Elle a continué ses recherches en tant que boursière postdoctorale au Département de psychologie de York University.

En outre, elle est responsable du cours Compétences de base en relations interpersonnelles ainsi que du Stage interculturel offerts au 1er cycle en psychologie. Enfin, Dr. Yampolsky dirige le laboratoire de recherche Multiculturel, Expériences, Relations, Racismes et Identités (MERRI) à l’Université Laval.
