Monsieur Grondin commence sa carrière à l’Université Laurentienne où il travaille pendant huit ans avant de se joindre, en 1996, au personnel enseignant de l’École de psychologie. Ses travaux de recherche portent principalement sur le temps psychologique. Il a été rédacteur en chef de la Revue canadienne de psychologie expérimentale (2006–2009) et rédacteur adjoint de la revue Attention, Perception and Psychophysics (2006-2015) et de Psychologie canadienne (2003-2006). En 2016, la Société Québécoise pour la Recherche en Psychologie lui remet le Prix Adrien-Pinard pour souligner sa contribution remarquable à la recherche en psychologie.
